Conference

Cov-19 UpdateMay Conference dates CANCELLED
With much regret, due to developments with coronavirus (Covid-19) both in the UK and overseas, we are forced to CANCEL the EPCN conference for the current dates of May 18-22, 2020. We have had some wonderful abstract submissions on ponds from all over the world and as it stands we are seeking to re-arrange the conference for this Autumn. The conference organising committee members are presently looking into mechanisms with regards to refunds and new dates for a 2020 conference and will be in touch soon.

2020 European Pond Conservation Network conference

18-22nd May 2020, London, UK

The 9th European Pond Conservation Network (EPCN) conference will be held over 18-22nd May 2020 at University College London (UCL), London, UK. Responding to the considerable need to conserve European ponds, the conference will combine pond biology, hydrology and landscape ecology with pond conservation practice and welcomes both scientists and conservation practitioners to the meeting. The conference will include both oral and poster presentations along with workshop sessions aimed at increasing integration of the European pond community. A mid-conference field trip, hosted by the Freshwater Habitats Trust, will centre on the beautiful New Forest National Park in southern England, which harbours many ancient ponds and rare species.

Tickets for EPCN London 2020 can now be purchased online at the early-bird rate at epcn2020.eventbrite.co.uk

The 2020 EPCN Conference will be partly supported by the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) funded Hydroscape project which aims to determine how stressors and connectivity interact to influence biodiversity and ecosystem function. Attendees of the EPCN conference will be given the opportunity to interact with Hydroscape team members and listen to talks about this project.
